How to create a macOS installer for a Java application (.jar) (Updated for macOS Mojave 10.14) This information is for an older version of macOS. For more current information, visit: Mac Java! It's simple to turn your Java Swing program (.jar) into a proper macOS application with a native installer. Well, install Java 8 should be done via this command: $ brew cask install java8. After that, you should have two Java versions, java12 and java8. In case you want to uninstall a Java formula, use this command: $ brew cask remove java. It will remove java formula completely from your Mac. Current Java version can be verified by this. Eclipse 3.0.x does not support any of the new language features for Java 1.5, but if you have the 1.5 jdk installed it will see the new classes as they are on the classpath. Eclipse 3.1 is now in it's last milestone build, M7, and will have final release around the end of June (I think). How that would work with Java and SWT I don’t know, perhaps link the native dynamic libraries with the new SDK. It is possible to manually handle this if relinking with 10.14 SDK is not enough. The reason for this is not default is to avoid breaking existing applications.
macOS Mojave and Eclipse JAVAFX fail ![message #1808530] | Wed, 26 June 2019 10:17 | Simon Patrick Messages: 2 Registered: June 2019 |
| Hi everbody, I need Eclipse with JavaFX support. So, I'm running macOS with Mojave. I've downloaded Eclipse in version Version: 2019-06 (4.12.0) and the latest Java SE SDK 12. Unfortunately, I'm getting in my JavaFX-project, which I've gotten from GITHUB, a lot of errors. Somehow 'directives' or 'buildpaths' are missing for my machine. I have made a system search. I can't find any JavaFX directories or even the file called -> jfxrt.jar. No framework or libraries... :/ So, I have tried to get this file and have added it to the build path inside the project directory... Then all the errors were gone but it isn't still running properly. It's strange because on this page those guys claim: .../technetwork/java/javafx/downloads/index.html Quote: The JavaFX Download Section has moved As of JDK 7u6 JavaFX is included with the standard JDK and JRE bundles. Please download the JDK or JRE to use JavaFX. If you are looking for the JavaFX Scene Builder download you will find it in the 'Additional Resources' section of the main Java SE Download Page.
So, I can't even install it separately. I have installed the latest Java SE SDK for macOS? In my opinion there is something missing and all the pages are leading you to a big question mark. How can I get my JavaFX running? Thansk for any advice in this matter. Simon from CH :) - Attachment:Screenshot 2019-06-26 at 12.07.49.png

| JavaFX was removed as of JDK11: https://blogs.oracle.com/java-platform-group/the-future-of-javafx-and-other-java-client-roadmap-updates . You'll find more info at https://openjfx.io/ and https://openjfx.io/openjfx-docs/#install-javafx (the download link is in the first sentence).
